Track Build

BMW 2002

A clean, rust-free survivor taken from tired maroon to a bare-metal, caged, track-focused build — stripped, modified, refinished in a new color, and fabricated from the inside out.

The Project

Overview

It came in tired but honest — a rust-free 2002 under years of faded maroon, mechanically solid but wired like an afterthought. That was all the excuse we needed. What follows is a ground-up rebuild: stripped to bare metal, body reshaped, a cage welded in, a fresh color laid down, and an interior fabricated from scratch. A street classic earning its second life as a track car.

Build Notes

The Build Process

01

Gut & Clean

The car was gutted and thoroughly cleaned, then panels were moved and shaved to realign them — establishing a straight, true base before any bodywork began.

02

Strip & Primer

The 2002 was fully disassembled and taken down to bare metal, prepped, and sealed in primer in preparation for bodywork and paint.

03

Body Mods & Roll Cage

Body modifications were completed and a roll cage was fabricated and fully welded into the chassis, establishing the final interior structure for the fabrication and reassembly to follow.
